Apollo Management has signed a letter of intent to acquire Citi Property Investors, the real estate investment unit of Citigroup, in a bid to triple the value of its property assets.

Under pressure from regulators to unload assets, Citigroup is in negotiations to sell Citi Property Investors, reported Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter. Apollo Global Management and Australia-based Macquarie Group are said to be the front-runners in the bidding.
